International Visitor Leadership Program
The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is the U.S. Department of State’s premier professional exchange program. Through short-term visits to the United States, current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields experience this country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their American counterparts. Professional meetings reflect the participants’ professional interests and support the foreign policy goals of the United States.

IVLP: A Global Moment
in Time
"A Global Moment in Time: Photojournalists Document Challenges and Opportunities in the Covid Era" is a special initiative of the U.S. Department of State, implemented in partnership with World Learning. Over the course of two weeks in October 2021, participants engaged with U.S. photojournalists and media experts discussing the responsibility of media during the global COVID-19 pandemic, the impact of the pandemic and concurrent trends on journalists and the media, and the power of visual storytelling to effect change. In fall 2022, participating photojournalists will come to the United States for an in-person IVLP.

Global Moment Galleries
From October 2021 to October 2022, participating photojournalists will feature their work in Global Moment Galleries. Galleries will be
a living, breathing time capsule of life in the time of Covid – highlighting the many talented photojournalists who captured a unique moment or perspective in their communities.
Each First Thursday of the month from December 2021 to October 2022, participating photojournalists will present a live virtual gallery exhibition. Go to Public Events to RSVP to these public virtual events.
